Pathways to honour Bank of Bermuda Foundation

Pathways Bermuda (formerly Caron Bermuda) is to honour Bank of Bermuda Foundation at its Fifth Annual Award of Excellence Dinner at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel on April 9.

The formal fundraising event, under the patronage of Premier Michael Dunkley and Mrs. Pamela Dunkley, will recognise the tremendous generosity and commitment of the Foundation in supporting the community.

Established in 1989 by former shareholders, directors, officers, staff and retirees of the Bank of Bermuda Limited in honour of the Bank’s 100th anniversary, Bank of Bermuda Foundation has since donated more than $70 million and partnered with and underwritten the programmes, projects and services of numerous charities in Bermuda, including Pathways Bermuda.

Keynote speaker for the event is Kim Rubenstein, Executive Director of Be a Part of the Conversation - a nonprofit organisation that creates dialogues about drug and alcohol abuse and its impact on young people.

Ms. Rubenstein is a Certified Recovery Specialist who also serves on the Regional Advisory Board and National Alumni Leadership Council of Caron Treatment Centre. She is also the recipient of Caron’s “Brian Early Community Leadership Award” and helped create Be a Part of the Conversation in response to her own family’s journey into recovery. Her inspiring personal story of experience, strength and hope is one that will resonate with the local community.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will contribute to the ongoing development of Pathways’ Adolescent and Family programming and Scholarship fund, providing financial aid to assist those who require critical overseas residential treatment.

Pathways is inviting companies to purchase tables for the event and is also offering a unique sponsorship opportunity to enable organisations that have benefited from the Foundation’s support to be a part of this special evening of recognition and celebration. In addition to, or instead of, buying a table for staff members, companies are invited to purchase a table for representatives of select local charities in order for them to attend the gala dinner.

For more details about purchasing tickets for the event contact Gita Blakeney Saltus, Executive Director of Pathways, at 236-0823 or gbsaltus@pathwaysbermuda.bm
